SONG REVIEW: Wake Me Up by Avicii
Wake Me Up by Avicii
Wake Me Up is a song about a teenager trying to survive in a complicated world. There are many unknowns and difficulties ahead, suggesting that he must take his life seriously to deal with these issues. However, the singer wants to enjoy his life, stay youthful and free from commitments. He wakes up when it's all over, hoping to continue living in the dream of being young forever. The video clip show two sisters searching for a place where they can feel accepted and finally finding it in concert at the end of the music video. He is guided by his own spirit. He doesn't know where he will end up, but he knows where to start now.The older generation, those who are gaining life experience and are trying to move forward. You see the carefree nature of someone who is so young and naive about life, and basically tell them to live life like a dream. They say that if he doesn't open his eyes and take everything seriously , everything will pass him by and he will look back and wonder where the time has gone. But he loves the way he lives and that is fine. He lives life and enjoys it. The older generation tell him that he lives in a dream. He knows that the older generation probably associates his lifestyle with someone who is in the process of finding himself, but in his opinion, he didn't even know he was lost. He wants to do some things, but he is careless at the moment and has no plans to do it.He wants to live forever young and free. He is enjoying his life .He is not afraid to close his eyes and, as mentioned in the lyrics, "place himself in a dream." He sees his life as a game, play, have fun and win. Love, love for someone, love for yourself and love for life.Overall,The music video is so relatable since most people feel out of place somewhere within their lives ,as well as that it is relatable to the song.Occasionally, there is one problem that I’m doubting with. Why there are two outsiders in their village?I feel like maybe there is prequel to this story, since this leaves me with many question such as where are their parents? How did they get the Avicii mark? And the main question is why aren’t they liked?
This logo is displayed as a tattoo on people’s arms in the music video
This is when Bergling’s (Avicii) best-known emblem was introduced. On the one hand, it was a purely graphic logo. There were two white isosceles triangles on the black background. The triangles were identical but positioned in a different way, which made them look like two parts of a parallelepiped separated by a gap. In addition to the sleek and stylish look, the emblem had a meaning, which was easily deciphered by anyone familiar with the name of the musician. The two triangles symbolized the first two letters of his moniker and also represented the “play” button (or other buttons used for moving through a piece of music). While this emblem was sometimes used on its own, it was also often paired with the lettering “Avicii.” The lettering was added to explain the logo to those who were not familiar with the musician.
